After a long winter’s wait, the F1 2026 is off and running, with the verdict on the new 2026 cars still to be determined. Nevertheless, the family celebrated with a sleepover so we could watch in real time, preceded by a viewing of Marty Supreme, our last unseen Oscar nominee. All kinds of Australian dishes were enjoyed including Shrimp on the Barbie, Chicken Parm Sliders (who knew Chicken Parm is a beloved Aussie treat?), Prosciutto-wrapped Avocado, Chocolate Crackles and also popcorn for our movie viewing. Great fun to begin the season.

• Shrimp on the Barbie
2T EVOO
1/2 cup white wine
1t sea salt
1t black peppr
1t cayenne Pepper
2 garlic cloves, minced
1-1/2 lbs large shrimp with tails
Marinate 1-2 hours. Skewer and grill 2 minutes each side. Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon.
